Viktor Petrovich Astafiev is a writer, essayist, playwright, and screenwriter. The writer had a vast life experience: he fought in the Great Patriotic War and afterwards сменил (changed) numerous working professions. All this helped V. Astafiev to write about anything simply and honestly. The collection includes ten stories by V. Astafiev, as well as chapters from the novella "The Last Bow".
