Cortik. The Bronze Bird. The Shot

The story "Cortik" was published in 1948 and became one of the most popular children's works of the mid-20th century. It has been adapted into film twice and translated into many languages. "Cortik" opened the "Arbat" trilogy about Misha Polyakov... and his friends, which was continued by "The Bronze Bird" and "The Shot." And although in all these stories Rybakov gives a picture of his Soviet childhood, the adventures of the three friends resonate in the hearts of readers even to this day. Who could have thought that an ordinary summer at grandma and grandpa's could turn into a real investigation? Definitely not Misha Polyakov — an ordinary schoolboy from Moscow. The Red commander Polevoy, who was visiting grandma, gifts the boy an ancient cortik. A cipher is engraved on the rod inserted into the cortik, and the key to the cipher is hidden in the scabbard, which the boys set out to search for. By deciphering the message, they will receive directions to the location of the cache, but the guys do not yet know that real dangers await them on the way to the coveted goal...
