About the Shoes

The wonderful book "About the Shoes" was written by the famous children's writer Sofia Prokofyeva, and illustrated by the remarkable artist Alexey Barsukov. There once were two shoes: a left and a right. They went to find suitable feet for themselves... so they could run and jump together. On their way, they met a table, a cat, a cow, an eel, a duck, and a sparrow. The table admitted that it couldn't run, the cat chased the shoelaces, mistaking them for mouse tails, the cow said it needed four shoes, the eel simply didn't have any feet, the shoes hindered the duck from swimming, and the sparrow from flying.
