The Fox and the Hare

A Russian folk tale retold by V.I. Dal. 

The Hare and the Fox built themselves a house for the winter: the Hare settled in a simple wooden one, while the Fox had an ice house. The ice house was all nice and bright, clean! 

But then spring came, and not a trace was left of it. The cunning Fox quickly scrambled into the Hare's hut — now the poor owner can't even get home. 

This Russian folk tale, with magnificent illustrations by Yuri Vasnetsov, an unmatched master of children's book illustration, will tell who among the animals — the Wolf, the Bull, the Bear, or the Rooster — will succeed in driving the Fox out of the Hare's house.
