The Surrounding World. Teaching Aid for Bilingual Children. Book 2

The book is the second part of a series of aids on the surrounding world for bilingual children studying Russian as part of additional education abroad. The aid is intended for students aged 8—9 years.

The aim of the aid is to develop the child's speech and subject competencies in new situations of speech communication and using an integrated approach in education.

In structure and content, the book is a logical continuation of the first part, while offering teachers and students new forms of work on the topics of the surrounding world. The book introduces a continuous plotline and characters, making the assimilation of educational material more engaging. The range of topics for study is expanded: ecosystems (using the forest and water body as examples), the water cycle in nature, natural zones, the solar system, geographical maps, and much more. Great attention is given to the sociocultural role of communication.

The book is designed for study over one academic year (1—2 hours a week). It can be used not only for classroom work under the guidance of a teacher but also for home reading with parents.
