The Surrounding World. Book 1

The book is the first in a series of materials on the surrounding world, created specifically for bilingual children studying the Russian language in supplementary education schools abroad. The aim of the material is to develop Russian speech based on the study of the surrounding world, as well as the overall development of the child, shaping their cognitive abilities. By repeating what is already known and discovering new things about the surrounding world, children learn to observe and compare not only natural but also linguistic phenomena. Book 1 introduces students aged 6-7 to the diversity of nature, seasons, provides an understanding of society, culture, and instills norms of environmentally sound and safe behavior in the surrounding natural and social environment. The tasks of the material correspond to testing diagnostic materials for bilinguals and prepare students for the certification test based on meta-subject knowledge. The book is designed for classes throughout one academic year (1 hour per week).
