Why finger painting? Any artistic creativity is a complex process. Collage and modeling without mom at an early age are only a prospect, not a fact. Drawing with pencils or brushes is just play, although useful, but without results (in... terms of completed works). "What to do?" - the eternal Russian question! The answer is literally in our hands!
Finger painting allows you to engage a child in creativity from the age of one. At this age, children are just learning to handle a brush/pencil/spoon, but they can control their hands much better. They are not yet able to draw a picture without adult assistance, but they are quite ready to participate in finishing it and become a full-fledged co-author. The result will be "ironclad" - the parent just needs to stop the creator at the right time and... you can already "show off" the child's painting. It will look good in almost any scenario.
But remember: the process of creativity is more important for the child than the result!
