Using cards of various historical events, participants in the board game "Timeline. History of Russia" build a continuous timeline. Starting with the initial card, players think about which event follows which. For example, was I. Aivazovsky's painting "The Ninth Wave" created before or after the discovery of Antarctica? Got it right? – You can discard the card. Made a mistake? – Draw another card. The goal for players is to eliminate all the cards in their hand as quickly as possible while building the timeline.
Old and new. The board game Timeline. History of Russia features events from the Primary Chronicle (and even earlier!) to the most modern times (do you remember the year the social network VKontakte was created?). In total, there are 110 cards dedicated to our shared history.
How to play:
- Select a card with an event and guess when it happened.
- Flip the card and check your guess. Place the card on the timeline if your guess was correct.
- Your goal is to place as many cards as possible in the correct position on the timeline.
Pleasant and useful. The board game "Timeline. History of Russia" is an accessible and engaging way to enhance your historical knowledge. Even if you are not particularly interested in history, after two or three games of Timeline, you will know well: in what year the double-headed eagle appeared on the coat of arms of Russia, when the first steam engine was invented, when Russia first participated in the Olympic Games… the list can go on endlessly.
