The work of Theophilus of Edessa (8th century) still remains one of the rarest astrological writings, entirely devoted to, as he writes himself, questions "about military campaigns against the enemy and counter-campaigns initiated by the enemy, about the siege of cities, about the seizure of power, and about specific times that trigger [military events] or exacerbate [hostility]."
