This edition is in a hardcover (with partial gloss). Classic book format. White paper. Clear, easy-to-read font. Almost 70 years ago, writer Yuri Druzhkov and artist Ivan Semyonov created two wonderful heroes for the magazine "Cheerful Pictures": the magical artist... Pencil and the iron master Samodelkin. Witty, kind, and resourceful little people became so beloved by the magazine's readers that Yuri Druzhkov wrote a book about them called "The Adventures of Pencil and Samodelkin." The cheerful little people, with the help of loyal friends, defeat the treacherous robbers: the pirate Bul-Bul and the spy Hole. The first illustrator of the book was, of course, Ivan Semyonov. Ivan Maksimovich Semyonov (1906—1982) was a famous Soviet graphic artist, People's Artist of the USSR, Vice-President of the International Association of Literature and Art for Children, founder and first editor-in-chief of the magazine "Cheerful Pictures." The distinctive style of his drawings is well known to several generations of readers. Ivan Semyonov created illustrations for the most famous works of N. Nosov, Yu. Sotnik, G. Uspensky, V. Gubarev, I. Ilf, and E. Petrov, C. Dickens, Y. Hashek, M. Twain.
