The Levenhuk Discovery Micro Solar microscope is a great choice for someone who wants to get acquainted with the basics of microbiology. This easy-to-use microscope allows you to form an idea of how the micro-world works and observe a multitude of samples at high magnification. The optics are designed for studying transparent preparations, making it possible to observe life in a drop of water, prepared samples from kits, thin slices of plant tissues, parts of insects, and similar objects under the microscope.
Optical capabilities of the microscope
The microscope provides magnification in the range from 40 to 640 times. The revolving mechanism accommodates three objectives with magnifications of 4x, 10x, and 40x. The design of the eyepiece is interesting: it is non-removable and retractable. In one position, it provides a magnification of 10x, in another – 16x. Focusing is adjusted by rotating the coarse focus knobs located on the body. Thanks to the 45-degree tilt of the eyepiece attachment, prolonged continuous observations do not cause excessive fatigue.
Adjustable brightness lower illumination
Metal clips on the stage are used to secure samples under the objective. Under the stage, there is a lighting system consisting of an LED whose brightness can be adjusted, and a diaphragm disk. The lower location of the illumination indicates that the microscope can only be used for studying transparent samples. It is convenient that the lamp runs on batteries, making the microscope more mobile. It can be effectively used even in field conditions.
The knowledge book "Invisible World" included
The kit includes an informative book that explains how the micro-world is structured and how to observe it using a microscope. The text is easy to read, and the illustrations complement the narrative. The book also includes descriptions of interesting experiments that can be conducted at home independently.
An important feature of the microscope is that the kit includes a set of micro-preparations Levenhuk Discovery "Flora and Fauna," consisting of 24 prepared samples.
Main features:
Microscope with magnification from 40 to 640 times
Can observe transparent samples and life in a drop of water
