How the Little Ant Hurried Home

In the educational tale by the remarkable Russian writer and animalist Vitaly Bianki, there is a curious ant who climbed a tree and was swept away by a gust of wind on a birch leaf far from the anthill. He... needs to get home before sunset; otherwise, he won't be able to get inside. 
Everything would be fine, but his journey is complicated by an injured leg. The little ant is 'carried' home by various creatures, including a measuring caterpillar, a grass-cutting spider, a beetle, a flea, a grasshopper, a water strider, a May bug, and a leaf-folding caterpillar. 
In the end, the ant makes it back to his anthill just in time to slip through the last open entrance.
The decoration of the book includes illustrations by Lev Tokmakov. There were several editions of the tale with the artist's drawings. Unfortunately, complete sets of the original illustrations have not survived.
