Children of the Blue Flamingo

The publishing house "Omega" presents the philosophical-fantasy novella "Children of the Blue Flamingo" from the series "Flying Tales" by the remarkable children's writer Vladislav Krapivin.
The hero of the novella, fifth grader Zhenya Ushakov, unexpectedly ends up on a mysterious invisible... island of Dvid, ruled by a huge cruel monster — the Lizard. The island is in perfect order, and its inhabitants live in constant fear, strive for nothing, dream of nothing, and fear any change.
Legends of Dvid say that someday a young Knight will come from another world, who will kill the Lizard and free the island's inhabitants from its tyranny.
The desire and necessity to help his new islander friends push Zhenya to decide to take on the role of this Knight — to start a fight for good and justice, to make brave deeds, and to give the island's inhabitants hope for a happy future.  
The work is intended for middle school age children.
The text of the novella is presented without abbreviations, printed on good paper in large type, and contains color illustrations by I. Minkina.
