Maxim Shustov, a 19-year-old journalism student, and his friends Dima and Anya continue the investigation that began in Moscow with the study of the painting "Mansion on Prechistenka". After India, the heroes head to Peru and hope that South America... will be the final point in their dangerous journey. Maxim has obtained an ancient statuette of an unknown deity, which is supposed to guide the way through the Amazon jungles to the mystical City of the Sun, for the search of which Maxim's father spent almost his entire life. The heroes follow the trail of the Peruvian planter Carlos del Campo and the Russian manufacturer Alexei Zatrapezny to uncover the greatest mystery of the Chavin civilization and, more importantly, to save their loved ones from death.
