Ruslan and Lyudmila

The book includes the poem by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin "Ruslan and Lyudmila". The idea of creating the poem arose with the poet while he was still at the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum. However, A. S. Pushkin began to work on it directly later, in the 1818-1820s. The poem brought the poet fame. It was after reading "Ruslan and Lyudmila" that V. A. Zhukovsky gifted a young A. S. Pushkin his portrait with the inscription: "To the victorious student from the defeated teacher". "Ruslan and Lyudmila" has been reprinted multiple times, and different artists have worked on illustrations for the poem. Our edition features drawings by contemporary artist Ivan Tsygankov. The book is prepared for the 225th anniversary of A. S. Pushkin's birth.
