Ruslan and Lyudmila

The book includes the poem by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin "Ruslan and Lyudmila". The idea for creating the poem arose in the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum. However, A. S. Pushkin began to work on it later, in the 1818-1820s. The poem brought... the poet fame. It was after reading "Ruslan and Lyudmila" that V. A. Zhukovsky gifted the young A. S. Pushkin his portrait with the inscription: "To the victorious student from the defeated teacher". "Ruslan and Lyudmila" has been reissued many times, with various artists working on illustrations for the poem. In our edition, illustrations by contemporary artist Ivan Tsygankov are presented. The book has been prepared for the 225th anniversary of A. S. Pushkin's birth.
