Skipper was a leading fighter and aerobatics instructor of the "Flying Wrenches" squadron during World War II, until he was forced to retire due to an unfortunate incident he prefers not... to remember.

Since then, Skipper has led a reclusive life, but his tranquil civilian existence comes to an end when the ambitious and persistent Dusty asks for his help. Agreeing to share the secrets of his long-forgotten skills with Dusty, Skipper also learns a few valuable life lessons and finally finds inner harmony.
