Boris Vladimirovich Zakhoder (1918-2000) – a children's poet, writer, and translator, Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation. Boris Zakhoder's love for learning foreign languages was instilled by his mother, who worked as a translator and spoke five... languages fluently. However, the future writer struggled to find his calling: during his student years, he changed three universities (Aviation Institute, Faculty of Biology of Moscow State University) and ultimately settled at the Gorky Literature Institute. His love for natural and exact sciences is reflected in Boris Zakhoder's poetry, where the poet amusingly and unobtrusively informs children about the laws of nature and animals. This book includes such works by the writer: poems "Geography on the Run", "The Whale and the Cat", "Doggy's Disappointments", "Little Dog Barrel", tales "Little Rus", "Ma-Tari-Kari", and many others. Illustrations by contemporary artists: Nadezhda Bugoslavskaya and Svetlana Bushmanova. For middle school age.
