In a house hidden behind lemon trees on Santo Domingo street in Santiago, Chile, several generations of the Lonsogné family lived. Its founding father arrived here from France in the late 19th century with a few francs in his pocket,... leaving far behind the vineyards in the Jura River valley, destroyed by phylloxera. Heading to California, he fatefully found himself on the shores of Chile, where he was forced to disembark.

Rich in magical realism and adventure, filled with poetry and passion, the narrative unfolds on both sides of the Atlantic. Miguel Bonfou paints portraits of rootless people whose destinies unfold against the backdrop of great and terrible historical events.
