The novel “Little Lord Fauntleroy,” published in 1886, instantly became a bestseller and was loved by readers. With this book, the then not very well-known writer Frances Hodgson Burnett made a name for herself. The novellas “The Secret Garden” and “A Little Princess,” in which the main characters bravely overcome the hardships of life despite their young age, have etched Burnett's name into the history of literature.
