A boy finds himself in an unfamiliar place and does not understand how he got there or how to get back. But little people and a Helpful Grandma come to... the rescue. It is important to always follow the yellow strip: it will surely lead home. The yellow road winds between the rocks, where strange giraffes tell jokes, dives into a forest inhabited by kind trolls, leads to a desert filled with ships and boats, and transforms into a yellow river — and then to the sea, an island, a princess's castle, and a labyrinth. At every turn, the boy is met not only by dangers but also by good helpers — sometimes mischievous jays, sometimes a stern submarine captain, sometimes a talking dog, or an artist painting magical pictures. And in case of trouble, he is saved by an extraordinary backpack gifted by the little people.
