Benn's Fears

Ever since Benn was bitten by the dachshund Rudy, the world around him has changed: it has become louder, meaner, and more dangerous! When a dog appears in the neighbor's yard that barks constantly and jumps at the fence, Benn doesn't even dare to leave the house and refuses to go to school! But then the boy learns that this wild beast named Freddy was cruelly treated when he was still a puppy, and the dog behaves so aggressively because he is afraid of people. However, if Freddy continues to bark loudly and scare passersby, he will have to return to the shelter. But Benn knows firsthand that overcoming his fear is not so easy! And he decides to help Freddy.… Through the example of the fear of dogs and ways to overcome it, writer Jutta Nimfius and artist Volker Friedrich, alternating narration in words and drawings, have created an original artistic form of a story about a theme that excites children, combining delicacy and captivating storytelling.
