The Musketeer and the Fairy

Vladislav Krapivin (1938–2020) had an astonishing sensitivity to understanding children and knew how to approach them. With each work, he aimed to extend childhood for himself and his readers. Krapivin's heroes are rebels and defenders, characterized by a special perspective on the world, sincerity, and a heightened sense of justice, and they are always in search of adventures. Such is Zhenya Vorobyov, nicknamed Johnny, from the series of stories "The Musketeer and the Fairy." These stories tell of a difficult but happy childhood with its contradictions, joyful games, battles with enemies, as well as the growing up and understanding of life.
