What is expected of children? To play snowballs, kick balls, and misbehave in class. However, little Matt has almost no time for that because he is a king. His dream is to make all children happy. Such a task is... not easy even for adults, and on top of that, ministers are plotting, foreign monarchs threaten war, and the kids in the children's parliament can only argue… Young Antos, the main character of the story "Antos the Wizard," has plans that are no less ambitious – he wants to learn wizardry. Well, who hasn't dreamed in childhood of fulfilling all their wishes with the power of thought? Too lazy to do homework? Poof! And the completed assignment has magically appeared in the notebook. Need a flying carpet or an invisibility cap? Here you go! And after persistent training, Antos even managed to create his first magic. But it turned out that every wish has a price… The stories about King Matt and Antos the Wizard are among the most famous works of the outstanding Polish educator, physician, and writer Janusz Korczak. The creator of the Warsaw "Orphanage," he lived an amazing life, which, like his creative work, he completely dedicated to children. The wonderful illustrations for the book were created by artists Evgeny Medvedev and Olga Grablevskaya.
