Magical Tales. Illustrations by B. Dekhteryev

Boris Alexandrovich Dekhteryev (1908-1993) – a domestic illustrator, was the chief artist at the "Children's Literature" publishing house; he illustrated works by A.S. Pushkin, M.Yu. Lermontov, M. Gorky, A. Gaidar, and many other authors.
In his work, B.A. Dekhteryev relied on... Russian realistic illustration. His drawings show how virtuously the artist mastered the technique of watercolor. Household items, clothing – everything in B.A. Dekhteryev's illustrations is thoughtfully depicted and corresponds to the time represented. Bright, fairytale-like, and at the same time realistic, the drawings of this artist are loved by children who enjoy looking at them for a long time. In our book, illustrations by Boris Dekhteryev for Charles Perrault's fairy tales: "Little Red Riding Hood", "Cinderella", "Puss in Boots", and "Sleeping Beauty" are reproduced.
