Second-grader Alisa Selezneva goes with her father and flight mechanic Zeleny on an interstellar scientific expedition to collect rare animals for the Moscow zoo. But suddenly the crew’s harmless journey in search of rare animals turns into a dangerous adventure. The girl and her friends will have to fight space pirates and unravel the mystery of the disappearance of three legendary captains. This fantastic story, first published in 1974, is still very popular among all young adventure lovers, not only in our country. It has been translated into almost all European languages, as well as Chinese and Japanese. The cartoon "The Secret of the Third Planet" was filmed based on the story.
