The... oldest in this friendly company — life-loving Granny Felicia, who celebrated her ninety-first birthday, and the youngest — the orphanage children who found a true home and a loving family in the city of Zlatoteevo.

The vivid, colorful tale by Katażyna Ryryh creates an extraordinary fairy-tale atmosphere filled with colors, smells, and sounds. Meanwhile, it cannot be called entertaining, because, like other works by the contemporary Polish writer, such as «Docking Field», «Zlatoteevo» encourages young readers to reflect on complex life situations, presenting even difficult philosophical questions in a brilliantly light form. Katażyna Ryryh treats small people not from above, but as equals, and therefore her books — written in an ironic style, rich in humor, wordplay, and diverse allusions — can be read by the whole family, as they blur the lines between «children's» literature and that which addresses adults exclusively.
