Arkady Gaidar – a legend. The most incredible stories were told about his life, and all of them are pure truth. He said of himself: «It was an ordinary biography in an extraordinary time.» At 14, he went to the Civil War, at 17 he commanded a regiment, and he died at the front during the Great Patriotic War. He began to write in the 1920s and created a happy country in his works, in which he himself believed fervently. More than one generation of Soviet children grew up on his books.
