Ordinary Story

The novel "Ordinary Story" became the first serious
work of I. A. Goncharov. It describes the life and customs of the residents of a noble estate in the 19th century. The protagonist of the novel, Alexander Aduyev, a dreamy and naive young man, changes under the influence of his wealthy and pragmatic uncle. From a rejected unhappy lover by Nadya, Alexander transforms into a calculating person who does not expect anything surprising from life. The novel is published with an article by I. A. Goncharov "Better late than never" and with an appendix: an excerpt from the article and "Memoirs of I. A. Goncharov" by G. N. Potanin. For older school age.
