The ash tree is a product of the decomposition of a complex organic compound - calcium gluconate - into calcium oxide and carbon.

Instructions
- Place the ceramic tile on a metal tray or a similar non-combustible surface.
- Pour the urotropine onto the tile in a mound.
- Make a depression on the tile, resembling a volcano crater.
- Pour calcium gluconate into the depression.
- Light the urotropine in several places.
- Watch as your ash tree begins to grow.
- At the end of the experiment, extinguish the fire!
