The Human Animal

Iceland, Christmas Eve. At this time of year, the inhabitants barely see white light - only the polar night surrounds them. In Reykjavik lives the main character Domhild, a midwife who inherited an apartment from her grandmother, who was also a midwife in the past.

While the Icelanders prepare for a terrible storm that is about to hit the island, Domhild discovers that her grandmother left her manuscripts. In them are reflections on human nature and chance.
