The Adventures of Sadjo and Her Beavers

The girl Sadjo and her brother Shepien are children from a Native American tribe. One day their father brings them two small beavers who have lost their family. The children become deeply attached to these cute creatures. But one day they have to part with one of the beavers; the little one faces a hard life in captivity. To save their beloved pet, they set out on a long and dangerous journey, risking their lives as they overcome many obstacles. Fortunately, they meet many kind people along the way who help them bring back their little friend.

The author of this captivating and touching tale is English. He spent most of his life in Canada, among the Native American tribe. There he took the Native name Gray Owl and became known to the world as the author of this book and as a passionate defender of the pristine nature of North America. The writer believed that all people should adopt the careful, poetic attitude of Canadian Indians toward the endless forests and our lesser brothers.
