Olya's Adventures

Seven-year-old Nadya, a spoiled girl from a wealthy family, got bored with toys – there were too many of them! But when her new friend Olya took charge, playing with dolls became a joy for Nadya. It turned out to be very engaging: sewing new clothes for her "daughters", making a dollhouse with furniture and curtains, organizing sleigh rides, a masquerade ball, a lottery… The story was written by the Russian writer Varvara Andreyevskaya (1848–1915). This captivating and touching book gives young readers a chance to get acquainted with the lifestyle and customs of Russia in the late 19th – early 20th century.
