Bashkir Folk Tales

A collection of Bashkir folk tales, filled with boundless love for the native land, traditions, and customs of the Bashkir people, published to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In these tales, brave heroes... and daring youths defeat evil spirits and cruel khans; hard work and kindness receive their rightful reward, while cowardice and greed receive punishment. The tales have been processed by Andrey Platonov, who presented folk plots at a high literary-artistic level and managed to preserve the Bashkir flavor. Expressive illustrations by Rashid Saifullin vividly depict the life of the Bashkir people. The book is part of the series Tales of Our Peoples and is published with a reliable cloth spine, which was traditionally used in Soviet publishing.
