Long-tailed bandits

I was about five or six years old then. We lived in a village.
One day my mother went to the forest for wild strawberries and took me with her. There were a lot of wild strawberries that year. They grew right behind the village, on an old forest clearing.
I still remember that day, although more than fifty years have passed since then. It was a sunny summer day, hot. But just as we approached the forest, suddenly a blue cloud rushed in and heavy large raindrops began to fall from it. And the sun continued to shine. The raindrops fell to the ground, splashed heavily against the leaves. They hung on the grass, on the branches of shrubs and trees, and in each droplet, the sun reflected and played.
