Little One + Little One: Piano Duets and Trios for the Youngest

Since the late 19th century, piano duets in Russia have been one of the most popular forms of collective creativity. A huge amount of sheet music was offered to lovers of home music-making: transcriptions of opera and ballet music, arrangements of popular songs, and original pieces. In the 20th century, the traditions of amateur music-making were reflected in children's music pedagogy. Piano ensembles took their place in the training program for young pianists. The repertoire of the genre was enriched by original works written specifically for children, taking into account their age-related characteristics. Now, in the 21st century, interest in the art of piano duets is incredibly high. Life has made its adjustments to children's music education, which has significantly rejuvenated. The demand for repertoire understandable and accessible to children aged 5-6 has increased. This collection presents piano duets and trios that expand the children's ensemble repertoire. Colorful illustrations accompanying each piece are designed to awaken children's imagination. All works are published for the first time.
