Little Women

Louisa May Alcott 1832–1888 – an American writer who became famous in 1868 thanks to the publication of her autobiographical novel «Little Women». The novel became one of the first works for girls written in the genre of family saga.... The events of the book unfold in America during the Civil War between the North and the South. The author depicted the coming-of-age period of four sisters from the March family: kind and romantic Meg, the "renegade" in a skirt Jo, modest and kind Beth, and spirited, frivolous Amy. While the girls' father fights in the war, all the care of the home falls on the shoulders of the mother of the family, while the sisters try not to be disheartened, help each other cope with difficulties, overcome various sorrows, and share the joys of life. And no war can prevent the girls from growing up: dreaming, hoping, falling in love.
