Liza's Happiness

Liza's mother fell seriously ill, and now the family is facing complete poverty. Fate brings the girl together with the owner of a children's theater; he takes her into the troupe. The young actress is set to play the role... of Cinderella. And – most importantly – she will be paid a salary; Liza has the chance to heal her mother. During rehearsals, it turns out that the newcomer has talent. Of course, this cannot but cause envy among the other little actors. However, Liza also finds true friends in the troupe. Their help and her own kind heart help the girl to honorably overcome all the trials. The book includes illustrations by artists V. A. Taburin and I. V. Simakov, which were created for this story at the very beginning of the 20th century; they beautifully convey the atmosphere of that time.
