The Princess and the Pea

 

Once upon a time, there was a prince, and it was time for him to get married. He traveled around the world, but he could not find a suitable bride. However, sometimes what seems to be a distant and unattainable... ideal may be hiding quite close by… Andersen's fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea" is filled with cheerful irony and worldly wisdom. The artist Anton Lomaev created illustrations for it while walking with his family in the parks of Peterhof, where the spirit of the courtesies of the baroque palaces of the 18th century still lives. Once, real princes and princesses walked there, and even now it seems that among the green mazes, a lavish dress or a tricorn hat is about to flash by, or a gilded carriage is to pass between the trees.
