The Tale of Hodja Nasreddin

The merry rogue Hodja Nasreddin became a true symbol of Uzbekistan thanks to the writer Leonid Soloviev. In the 1920s, Soloviev worked as a correspondent for the newspaper "Pravda Vostoka" and enthusiastically collected Central Asian folklore. The legends and tales about Hodja Nasreddin that he recorded formed the basis for the lively story of the trickster "The Disturber of the Peace" and the philosophical-lyrical one — "The Enchanted Prince".
The graphic drawings of the artist Stanislav Zabaluev canonized the image of Nasreddin.
