The Complete Mahabharata in 6 Volumes

The great epic of ancient Vedic literature, the Mahabharata, composed by the incarnation of the Supreme Lord, Shri Vyasa, tells the story of the ancient civilization of Aryan dynasties of kings and sages who lived on our planet five thousand years ago. The Mahabharata directly describes the significant events unfolding during those times when the Supreme Lord, Shri Krishna, was present on Earth, who descended into this world to free the Earth from the heavy burden of warring kings and to protect the righteous.

The "Mahabharata" contains Vedic knowledge that enriches a person with the wisdom of many sacred writings. Shri Vyasa himself asserted that the "Mahabharata" does not yield in spiritual power to the four Vedas. It is known that the "Mahabharata" possesses unique knowledge that is not found in any other book.

• Adi Parva (The First Book. The Origin of the Bharata Dynasty and describes the beginning of the feud between the sons of King Dhritarashtra and their cousins, the Pandavas)
• Sabha Parva (The Book of Assembly. Tells about the unification of ancient Indian principalities under the leadership of the Pandavas and how they were deprived of their kingdom)
• Aranyak Parva (The Forest Book. Covers the twelve-year period that the Pandavas spent in the forest)
• Virat Parva (The Book of Virata. Narrates the events that happened to the Pandavas during the thirteenth year of exile)
• Udyoga Parva (The Book of Efforts. Describes the diplomatic efforts of the Pandavas to avoid war with the Kauravas by all means)
• Bhishma Parva (The Book of Bhishma. Tells about the first ten (of eighteen) days of the battle of Kurukshetra)
• Drona Parva (The Book of Drona. Narrates the battles and duels over five (from eleventh to fifteenth) days of the eighteen-day battle of Kurukshetra)
• Karna Parva (The Book of Karna. Covers the battles and duels during two (sixteenth and seventeenth) days of the eighteen-day battle of Kurukshetra)
• Shalya Parva (The Book of Shalya. Narrates the battles and duels on the last day of the eighteen-day battle of Kurukshetra)
• Sauptika Parva ("The Book of the Massacre of Sleeping Warriors") — the tenth book of the "Mahabharata". It recounts the dishonorable extermination of the Pandava army by Drona's son named Ashwatthama after the Kauravas were defeated in the battle of Kurukshetra.
• Stri Parva ("The Book of Wives") — the eleventh book of the "Mahabharata". It narrates the events that occurred after Ashwatthama treacherously destroyed the sleeping Pandava army, avenging the death of the Kauravas in the battle of Kurukshetra. The "Stri Parva" describes the grief of the wives of the fallen warriors.
• Shanti Parva (The Book of Peace). This book is the largest in the "Mahabharata". It presents conversations of heroes and sages on various topics.
  It discusses very important issues describing various sides of social life and the most important social institutions.
• Anushasana Parva - The Book of Instruction. In this highly elevated book, it tells how Yudhishthira, now the indisputable king of the Kuru house, overcomes his despair by listening to Bhishma's exhaustive discussions on spiritual principles and returns to his normal state. Bhishma, son of Ganga, explains human affairs in terms of material and spiritual needs. He also explains what results can be achieved through various forms of charity. It describes those in need of charity and the general principle covering all types of charity. Furthermore, Bhishma discusses the rules of human behavior, their practical application, and the highest purpose of truth.
• Ashvamedhika Parva - The Book of Horse Sacrifice. It narrates the unification of all kingdoms under the leadership of the Pandavas after they achieved victory over the Kauravas. It includes one of the most important philosophical texts of the Mahabharata—the Anugita, which is a continuation of the Bhagavad Gita.
• Ashrama Vasika Parva - The Book of Dwelling in the Forest. It tells about the retreat to the forest and the conclusion of the life path of King Dhritarashtra, his wife Gandhari, and Kunti.
• Mausala Parva - The Book of the Battle of Clubs. It narrates the internecine destruction of the confederation of related peoples—the Yadavas, Vrishnis, Andhakas, and Kukuras, and the departure of Krishna and Baladeva.
• Mahaprasthanika Parva - The Book of the Great Departure. It recounts the last days of the life journey of the Pandavas and Draupadi, spent in wanderings and ascetic feats.
• Swargarohanika Parva - The Book of Ascension to Heaven. It tells about the posthumous fate of the Pandavas and their cousins, the Kauravas.
