Arcanum. Book 2. The Gorgon's Altar

The second book in the "Arcanum" series. Like a box with a double bottom, the resort of New Ingersham holds many secrets. A secret life seethes in the endless tunnels sprawling beneath the city, in the ominous abandoned sanatorium, scientific laboratories. Malevolent gazes seek out Dan among the vacationers, watch over Lera and Maxim, touch Svetka. The mysterious Madame Anait, the Komissarov family, the adventurer Bestuzhev – it seems they have big plans for the guys. But what do they want? Perhaps the hint lies in an old diary, or in the logs of the "Arcanum" ship, or in the nightmares haunting Lera and Maxim? The past is already reaching out to them with its clingy tentacles, from which there is no escape.
