Pall

The new collection by Natalia Shitskaya includes two stories — «Pall» and «Dogella».
In the life of Dani Skvortsov, everything is fine except his eyesight. Without glasses, his world is a pall. To help their son, his parents decide on surgery, after which Dani's life completely changes. There are two options left: pretend that you know nothing or accept everything as it is. «Pall» is a finalist for the V. P. Krapivin Prize and the recipient of a special award from the «Sverdlovsk Regional Special Library for the Blind» (2021).
Opening your soul and letting in a person whom everyone around considers an outcast is difficult. This is a special gift possessed by children. Twelve-year-old Andrei Kolganov befriends a strange neighbor nicknamed Dogella, whom others hate for her fanatical love of animals. This friendship puts Andrei in a difficult position, where on one side of the scale is love and career, and on the other — responsibility for the lives of others. «Dogella» is a laureate of the V. P. Krapivin Prize in the «Commander’s Choice» nomination (2019).
