The book by Professor Alister McGrath of Oxford University is a wonderful example of modern Christian apologetics. It is a brilliant, reasoned response to the leading ideologue of the new atheists, Richard Dawkins. The author provides an overview of Dawkins' main ideas and counters his opponent from the perspective of a Christian scholar. Being not only a theologian but also a molecular biologist, McGrath convincingly demonstrates that science and religion are not in opposition to each other, and that a scientific view of the world does not necessarily lead to atheism, as Dawkins tries to persuade his followers.
