Sleep Like a Shark

Dad calls Maya to sleep, but she still has so much to do! And why must she go to bed every evening? It's so boring! It's much more interesting, for instance, to sleep upside down, hanging from a tree branch like a bat. Or in a shell, like a snail: you can crawl into the little house on your back at any moment and sleep for a day or two. How convenient! Or to sleep in the ocean with your eyes wide open, like a shark. You swim - and you sleep! Or lying on your back, like an otter, surrounded by all your family and holding each other’s paws. Beautiful! Or like a walrus that falls asleep anywhere and in any position. Or like a bear that sleeps all winter and has no idea what cold, snow, and wind are. But in the summer, it sleeps little. Isn't that great? And Maya decides to try! But eventually, she realizes she does not want to sleep in the gross mud like a frog. And standing like a zebra, she won’t be able to sleep. She needs more sleep than a giraffe, but less than a bear. After trying everything, she remembers her warm little bed...
