Sasha is fourteen, and she can't find her place anywhere. At home — her neurotic mom and older sister, at school — dreaded geometry and cruel classmates. But Sasha has something that she really enjoys — the sci-fi series “Fire... Star” — and she immerses herself entirely in this world. The main character of the show becomes her best, albeit imaginary, friend. Sasha takes on the name Arabella and joins a circle of like-minded fans, where she finds new friends. This passion gives Arabella a true superpower — faith in herself. But where is the line between reality and fiction? What to do if the real world becomes increasingly unbearable, and escaping into fantasy turns out to be so easy? Sasha-Arabella will have to find answers to these and many other questions..
In 2021, the manuscript of the book “Arabella” titled “In Real Life, Everything Is Different” made it to the shortlist of the all-Russian competition for the best literary work for children and youth “Kniguru.”
