Miss Charity

On the fourth floor of a London mansion lives little Charity Tiddler. The calendar shows the end of the 19th century, and therefore, all the goals in the life of the young lady are predetermined: a decent education - singing, dancing, music, drawing, embroidery - and a successful marriage. But girls are born at all times who are more interested in exploring the surrounding world and its inhabitants than in dressing up and hunting for husbands. Charity is one of them. From an early age, she lives a lonely life, but it is by no means boring. After all, there is so much interesting around: frogs, mice, snails, hedgehogs, and birds... Thanks to her curiosity, common sense, and sense of humor, as well as her mastery of watercolor, Charity becomes a children's writer and illustrator - like the famous Beatrix Potter, whose life inspired Marie-Od Murai to create this novel.
