The Magic Sneakers of My Friend Percy

When cautious and clumsy Ulf gets a new friend, life turns upside down. Percy is the complete opposite of Ulf: he likes to fight, tramples on others' caps, and during breaks everyone avoids him. Ulf desperately wants to be like... Percy; he dreams of owning his magic sneakers, which, according to Percy, endow their owner with strength and courage. And he manages to do it! But alas, it's not that simple...
 
This is a humorous story about how a "good boy" gets into a bad company and becomes a notorious bully; it is based on the real memories of the famous Swedish writer Ulf Stark, the author of numerous books and plays for children.
 
Ulf Stark (1944-2017) is a classic of children's literature, a beloved and well-known Swedish writer all over the world. Four of his books have been published by "The White Crow": "George and the Dragon", "Little Stark", "A Little Tale of Love" and "The Runaways". "The Runaways" is Stark's last tale, published posthumously.
 
His stories are wise and lyrical. Ulf Stark particularly feels the inner world of a child, understands the laws by which they grow and become adults. He seems to see what is happening from different points of view, which is why Stark's books are read by everyone - both adults and children. Everyone finds and discovers thoughts and feelings close to them.
