I Don't Love Josephine

For Hugo Sekades, a 6th-grade student, everything is simple: girls are the worst. They are mean, they only chat, giggle foolishly, and gossip. After Hugo told the whole world how much girls annoy him, they also retaliated and staged a... boycott against him. Everything was clear – who is with him and who is against him – until Josephine came to class.

Hugo is confused: Josephine is different from other girls. Not only because of her dark shiny hair and her green, witch-like eyes. She isn't interested in gossip, rumors, or snickering behind backs, and she rejects the "game" of boycott on the very first day. Hugo quickly realizes that unpredictability has struck him – love! He will have a hard time: changing his image, testing advice from girl magazines, poems and verses from greats… But in the end, the best expression of his feelings will not be a memorized compliment or a new haircut, but disarming honesty and sincerity.
