Tales of Yolka-Palka

In the center of a big city, in the yard of an apartment building, there stands a tall-tall fir tree. Once it was a small Christmas tree - it was planted when the house was still quite new. In the... summer they watered it, in the winter they covered it - and it began to grow. Years went by. The house grew old. The tenants in the apartments changed. And the fir tree kept growing, peering into windows, getting to know people, listening to their stories. And it did not notice how it turned into a towering tree. Now it even cannot peek into the attic window - it has grown taller than the house. It is boring for it, wanting to tell someone about its yard, to share what it has seen and heard.
