Deadly Eggs. Stories and Tales

The book presents satirical tales and stories by one of the brightest writers of the 20th century, Mikhail Afanasyevich Bulgakov (1891-1940). While the stories are largely autobiographical and reflect the dramatic moments of the writer's difficult life, the tales are... based on pure artistic fantasy — grotesque, hyperbolic, with generous use of parody and caricature. They can be seen as a prelude to Bulgakov's main work — the novel "The Master and Margarita." In his works, the author very clearly depicts the morals of Soviet reality in the 1920s, attempts to resurrect the ideals of the past, dear to his soul, of the 19th century, and tries to deal with the communist regime, which he detests, at least through the writer's pen.
